Meet His Excellency Godwin N. Agbo

Ambassador Godwin Nsude Agbo assumed official duties as Ambassador of Nigeria to Japan on April 30, 2008 after presenting his letters of credence to His Majesty, Emperor Akihito.
Before his appointment, Ambassador Agbo was a member of the Nigerian parliament. At various times, he had held public offices ranging from Chairman of a Local Government to Chairman of the Board of a State Basic Education Programme. His hobbies include soccer and table tennis. He is married with four children.


Ambassador Agbo’s mission is to further deepen the existing cordial relations between Nigeria and Japan and also sensitize Japanese businessmen about the vast and enormous market and business opportunities existing in Nigeria in the areas of oil and gas exploration, solid minerals mining, energy, agriculture, manufacturing, etc. He is convinced that the long distance between Nigeria and Japan should not be an impediment to the maintenance and sustenance of a fruitful bilateral economic relations between the two countries.
