10/27/2011 ECOWAS Ambassadors Re-group
The ECOWAS Group of Ambassadors’ Forum in Japan was resuscitated in June, 2011. The Group which consists of Ambassadors of West African Countries meet regularly to discuss issues of common interest.
2. Members of the Group include the Embassies of Benin, Burkina Faso, Cote D’Ivoire, Ghana, Guinea, Liberia, Mali, Nigeria, Senegal and Togo.
3. In its first meeting, the Group elected Nigeria as the Chair and Secretariat of the Forum while the position of Treasurer went to Ghana. Meanwhile, the Group has established three committees namely, Media, Publicity and Culture, Trade, Energy and Investment and Science and Technology under the chairmanship of the Embassies of Liberia, Senegal and Benin, respectively.
